 Good headset for the cost August 31, 2010

these headphones are a little flimsy and the sound quality is less than decent especially the mic, when talking to my friends on skype they have to turn up their volume just to hear me. As well the cables are an audio and a mic plug which i would rather have just a USB. they are well worth the [...] bucks i paid for them but im hopping to find some better ones soon.

Hobo Champ
It worked fine for the first two months; a bit of static, but I didn't mind it for that price. The mouthpiece was very annoying, though, always getting into my mouth. But after a couple of months, it broke. Just stopped working slowly until no sound could be heard. Apparently my mouthpiece is still working, but no sound coming in. I'll spend more money next time for something that won't break down on me.

I did a search on Amazon for a "USB headset" and this came up as part of the search. I guess the search provides hits for "headset" as well as "USB headset". It is a decent inexpensive headset with 2 jacks that plug into your analog mic and headphone ports. I will use it but it is not what I was looking for.

The cable is nice and long and the in-line remote for the volume is a nice touch. That being said...
I bought 2 pairs of these for my wife a few months ago as she can be very hard on her headsets and these were cheap. The first pair has shorted out in the right ear and the pad has actually fallen off. This would not be due to any transgressions on the part of my wife as she is only hard on the cables i.e. rolling over it with her chair on our hard wood floor. until the shorting out and falling apart there were no issues with sound quality or echoing from the mic.
It's a one star item but including the price for the need it gets a 3 over all.
